Vibrant and dark red in colour, with the nose opening up to aniseed, violets, cherries, and a hint of mocha. Crushed fennel seed gives an enriched savouriness to the nose. The palate is intense, has lovely barrel characters along with red fruits, spicy black pepper, silky tannins and lovely fresh acidity lingering on the palate. It's great for drinking now, but should see 7-10 years with careful cellaring."
